We are approaching mainnet with the full economic stack of Status Network coming together.
With the GUSD pre-deposit vault open on 21st of January, the final phase of the pre-deposit campaign is live. This completes the set of assets that will seed liquidity on Status Network at launch and defines how capital, yield, and privacy come together on the gasless L2.
Status Network is designed to remove gas fees, preserve user privacy, and fund itself through productive assets and activity rather than sequencing fees. The GUSD vault is a key part of that design.
Yield-Backed Liquidity in a Privacy-First Network
GUSD is a yield-generating meta-stablecoin fully backed by USDT, USDC, and USDS, developed by Generic Protocol. Its canonical supply is issued on Ethereum, with mirrored balances on Status Network and across other connected networks under strict accounting and transparent controls. Everything is onchain.
Depositing into the GUSD vault does not require holding GUSD in advance. Participants can deposit USDC, USDT, or USDS directly, which are automatically converted into GUSD within a single vault. At Status Network mainnet launch, deposits are represented as GUSD on the L2, and will bootstrap stablecoin liquidity for DeFi, payments, and native applications, with the option to unwrap or exchange back later if desired.
Collateral is held in isolated vaults on Morpho and allocated into Prime vault strategies curated and operated by Steakhouse Financial. These strategies focus on high-quality assets and make use of Morpho’s built-in risk controls, governance processes, and timelocks, with all activity observable onchain.
When GUSD is pre-deposited for Status Network, that yield becomes part of the network’s native funding pool. Alongside staking yield from ETH and fees generated by native applications, it supports liquidity provision, application development, and long-term network sustainability. For liquidity providers, this is exposure to yield that is structural rather than subsidised.
This model is paired with an execution environment designed for privacy. Status Network is built on the Linea zkEVM stack and features a native privacy layer that will allow applications to offer private interactions by default. Removing gas fees eliminates one of the most persistent sources of friction and traceability in onchain systems. Without gas payments, account activity leaves fewer financial fingerprints, enabling stronger privacy guarantees for users and applications. Pre-depositing GUSD positions liquidity providers early in this environment.
Participants earn Karma, Status Network’s reputation token. Karma is a soulbound governance and utility token that unlocks access to gas-free throughput and voting power over the L2 native yield allocation and other network parameters.
Liquid rewards in SNT and LINEA are also offered to GUSD pre-depositors, with an epoch-based, pro-rata distribution until mainnet, as well as points from native apps.
Deposit GUSD Ahead of Mainnet
The GUSD pre-deposit vault is now open and will remain available until mainnet launch, targeting end of Q1 2026.
This is your last opportunity to seed liquidity early and earn rewards and liquid yield on the first gasless, privacy-focused L2 powered by native yield!
