We are excited to announce that the latest version of the Status Mobile and Desktop apps, Status v2.31, has been officially released!
In Status v2.31, we’ve introduced several changes aimed at improving the user experience, and we've continued to hone the app’s functionality and performance. Most importantly, the latest version of Status now supports native token swaps, thanks to the integration of ParaSwap, on both Status Mobile and Desktop!
Following the major release of Status 2.30 in September, we have adopted a new update schedule that will see us rolling out more releases, more often, as we continue to build out the functionality of Status Mobile and Desktop.
Building our vision for Status is an ongoing process, and we are working hard to deliver the applications’ full feature sets in a way that aims to preserve their users' rights to privacy and digital sovereignty.
We hope to follow up the release of Status v2.31 with further regular releases that will include bug fixes, performance improvements, and even more exciting new features.
In this blog post, we’ll cover:
- Native Token Swaps for Status Mobile with the integration of ParaSwap
- User Experience Improvements
- Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
- Downloading Status and Sharing Feedback
Native Token Swaps Now in Status Mobile!
When we launched v2.30 of Status Mobile and Desktop, the Status Desktop wallet featured support for native token swaps through ParaSwap, the leading DeFi aggregator, allowing users to swap tokens across supported networks directly within the Status app.
With Status v2.31, we are delighted to announce that we have now integrated ParaSwap into both the Status Mobile and Desktop applications, to allow users to easily swap tokens on supported networks from directly within Status.
With ParaSwap, users will be able to seamlessly and easily swap tokens on Ethereum, Optimism, and Arbitrum, with plans to add support for additional networks in the future. Swaps benefit from ParaSwap’s highly optimised protocol, delivering up-to-date prices and quick settlement times.
Building a Better User Experience
We’ve continued to work on improving the user experience for Status Mobile and Desktop with the latest release, and Status v2.31 includes a number of important features to make using Status easier and more streamlined.
The latest version of Status Desktop lets you initiate a transaction by clicking on a valid address posted in a chat, meaning it is now easier to send tokens to a valid ETH address or ENS name when it is shared with you in a chat.
This removes the unnecessary step of copying the recipient’s address and navigating to the wallet to send a transaction, thereby also reducing the risk of sending to the wrong address.
Status v2.31 also adds a local pairing fallback that allows for better syncing between Status Mobile and Desktop apps. This means that if a local sync fails on one of the apps, you can restore your account with your seed phrase and re-pair the devices, making it more feasible to use the same account across Status Mobile and Desktop.
In addition to native token swaps, Status Mobile has also implemented a number of smaller changes aimed at improving the user experience. These include an updated sign-in flow to make logging in more streamlined, as well as adding a photo preview to mentions of other users, making conversations easier to follow.
Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
Status v2.31 brings several major bug fixes and performance improvements for both Status Mobile and Desktop.
For Status Mobile, performance optimisations include the compression of in-app visual assets and the improvement of token price caching.
Status Desktop has made several performance improvements to Communities navigation, making switching between channels faster and the navigation of Communities for administrators smoother.
Status v2.31 also resolves a number of bugs related to token-gated communities, collectible transfers, and display issues for synced devices on Status Mobile. The latest version of Status Desktop also resolves an issue where transaction fee calculations were not being updated properly; these are now updated and displayed correctly.
