Paralelni Polis is a pioneering, non-profit organization pushing the philosophies of anonymity, decentralization, self sovereignty, liberty, and innovation around the world. They advocate for the use of privacy preserving tools that place ownership of human rights, finances, and communication back into the hands of the individual. Their principles and values are directly in line with those of the Status Community.
This is exactly why it is a pleasure to announce that Status is the Official Communication Partner of the 7th Annual Hacker Congress – HCPP20, held at Paralelni Polis and La Fabrika in Prague and online, October 2-4. The event brings together some of the leading minds in cryptography, economics, distributed systems, as well as crypherphunks from around the world.
Speaker include Riccardo Spagni of the Monero Foundation, theorist and early cyberpunk Douglas Rushkoff,, musician and philosopher Alexander Bard, Viktor Tron of the founder of Swarm and a host of other cryptoanarchists and cypherpunks such as Smuggler and Frank Braun.
With a community that values the basic human right to privacy, it only makes sense to shift away from centralized tools and use Status for all event communications. Status brings together open-source, decentralized protocols, self-sovereign cryptocurrencies, and widespread access to information with the integrated private messenger, secure crypto wallet, and decentralized Web3 browser. Status enables anyone to create an account without a phone number, email address, or bank account rendering a Status a truly pseudonymous communication platform.
With Status, event participants will be able to join public community channels dedicated to all things HCCP20. Status will be used for:
- Event news, announcements and updates in the public channel #hcpp20
- General community chat
- Collecting questions for AMAs with some of the speakers
- Creating new dedicated channels for specific event topics (i.e. cryptoeconomics)
- Enabling all participants to connect in 1:1 direct messages with a private, secure tool
- Organization of event activities such as the HCPP20 sticker design competition (details coming soon)
